Where do we shoot?

Blue Arrows Archery Club has an outdoor and indoor home at split locations in the north of Ipswich.

Arrow and equipment retrieval

The Ipswich high School field is a multi-sport venue therefore all arrows and parts of Arrows MUST be collected at the end of each session. 

We also ask that any splinters from the boss and ensure that no pegs or pins are left on the field

All Carbon Arrows

The use of all carbon arrows are strictly prohibited on the outdoor field.  They present a significant risk of loss as they cannot be detected sufficiently and splinters are extremely dangerous to the school pupils and other venue users.

Carbon/Aluminium composite such as ACC, ACE and X10 are permitted.

Access to the hall

We have confirmed bookings with Northgate sports centre.  We cannot enter the hall until our allotted time and must have packed up all club and personal equipment and vacated the hall by our allotted finish time.

All Carbon Arrows

The use of all carbon arrows are permitted at the indoor venue. 

When do we shoot?

The offical club night is Thursdays with optional member shooting on Sundays

During the summer we shoot outside on both Thursday and Sundays on at Ipswich School Playing Fields. 

In the winter, we are in Northgate Sports Centre on both Thursday and Sunday and for the frost hardened archery enthusiasts, we can also shoot outside on Sunday mornings at Ipswich School Playing Fields! 

All times stated below are our site booking times.  This means we cannot enter the site in advance of the stated time and committed have cleared away AND vacated the sites buy the allotted time.

Please note: All times for outdoor shooting are indicative - They are dependent on the weather and willing volunteers to set up, pack away and secure the site.  Times are therefore subject to change at short notice, particularly in the winter.

Summer - April to September

Thursday - 17:30 until Sunset - Outdoors - Ipswich School Playing Fields

Sunday - 08:30 to 12:00 - Outdoors - Ipswich School Playing Fields

Winter - October to March

Thursday - 17:30 to 20:00 Indoors - Northgate Sports Centre, Main Sports Hall

Sunday - 15:00 to 17:00 Indoors - Northgate Sports Centre, Main Sports Hall

Sunday - 08:30 to 12:00 Outdoors - Ipswich School Playing Fields
